Writings
In 2008, my personal essay entitled “The Clock” was a finalist in the Denver Women’s Unknown Writer’s Contest. In 2009, I entered and won a writing contest with the Denver Post, Colorado’s largest daily paper. As a writer for their Colorado Voices program, I was published five times. I have also been published in the Rocky Mountain News and numerous senior-focused newspapers across the country.
In 2009, I submitted a 2,000-word personal essay entitled “A Forgotten Life” to the 78th Annual Writer’s Digest Competition. This story, based on my book, The Secrets They Kept, received an honorable mention award in the memoir/personal essay genre. In this national contest, there were more than 13,500 entries across ten genres.
I am currently working on a new book, a compilation of personal essays entitled The Older I Get, the More I Object.
